ICHIRO OKADA was born in Gumma, Japan. He grew up in a small town where mountains and rivers were his childhood playground. In his early adulthood, he worked in a variety of field from a salary man at a large corporation to a barista at a chic small cafe. While he was working at the cafe, he had the urge to go to the U.S. so he followed his gut feeling and landed in Northern California where it is called Bay Area. He studied small business and graphic design prior to photography at Diablo Valley College in Concord, California. Soon after, he fell in love with photography and began studying photography at Foothill College and City College of San Francisco, California where he learned both commercial and fine art aspects of photography. He worked at a photo studio in Mountain View, California as a darkroom printer for few years while he was studying photography. Then he decided to pursue photography as a career and drove across America in eight days, 3,000 miles from San Francisco to New York City. Currently, he is working as a photographer based in New York City.
