to announce the establishment of The 46er Prize for Short Fiction, to be awarded once each year for a previously unpublished short story.
The winner will receive $500 and publication in The Adirondack Review. Entrants whose stories receive honorable mention will also have their stories published in The Adirondack Review. In addition, they will be awarded an honorarium of $50.
Guidelines: Entrants may submit up to three original, unpublished stories (stories must not have been previously published in either print or on-line publications). There is no limit on word length. Stories may be sent either pasted into the body of an e-mail, or as a .doc file attachment. Entry fee is $8.00 for one story, $15.00 for two stories, and $20.00 for three stories. Simultaneous submissions are accepted if we are notified immediately should they be accepted for publication elsewhere. Entrants may either send check or money order to Black Lawrence Press, or pay on-line with PayPal to the right.
Submissions will be judged by Adirondack Review editors.
Nota bene: the editors reserve the right to award no prizes at contest end if none of the submissions meet their standards. If this happens, the contest will be extended one month at a time until the judges decide on a winner.
Submissions should be sent to 46erprize@adkreview.com with name, address, phone number, and e-mail address included. Please also list word count and date entry fee was sent if paying by mail. Stories will not be considered until entry fee is received. Payments may be made by credit card to the right with PayPal, or make check or money order payable to Black Lawrence Press. Do not send cash. If paying by U.S. postal mail, please include a sheet of paper with your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and title(s) of entries with your entry fee. If you do not wish to include your telephone number, you will be notified by e-mail if necessary.
